Round 2 Confirmed

The Twilight Singers will kick off “Round 2,” the second leg of their US tour in late March, running through April. The stint will consist of around 20 shows. Dates to follow soon.

Michael Horrigan’s “Soul Power”

The Detroit Free Press has an article about The Soul Power Experience Unlimited Band, a Detroit area James Brown covers act. One of the two drummers in the project is former Afghan Whig Michael Horrigan. Horrigan joined the Afghan Whigs for the 1965 album, and played bass in the first live incarnation of the Twilight Singers. Rick McCollum, former guitarist for the Afghan Whigs, will be performing at Austin’s South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival this year. Lanegan Leaves Queens

Mark Lanegan, guest vocalist on the Twilight Singers Blackberry Belle, and partner with Greg Dulli on The Gutter Twins project, has left the Queens of the Stone age. “Mark is officially no longer playing with Queens of the Stone Age so as to devote more time to his own band,” read a statement from Lanegan’s camp. Lanegan’s new solo album, Bubblegum, will be released in the spring. His recent EP, Here Comes that Weird Chill, includes an appearance by Dulli.
