Minor correction to note... the June 11th show was the KROQ Weenie Roast. Very eclectic bill with the Whigs, Rollins Band, Violent Femmes, Beck, Frente, Green Day and another half dozen or so bands on the bill.

I think you missed one show in Sopot, Poland. Yes, they played in Poland :) It was a "Marlboro Rock In Festival". Unfortunately I'm not sure whether was that July 1993 or 1994.

Saw the whigs twice in 94 in Manchester UK- can't remember the dates- saw them again before that(couple of years) at boardwalk manchester- when the drummer played totally naked and dulli got pissed off and refused to sing- after heckling from the audience.

Afghan Whigs played in Toronto on April 1st 1994 at Lee's Palace. It was the first time I ever saw them in concert and Keanu Reeves was standing close to me in the audience!

Todd K Says:

The March 31st show at St. Andrews in Detroit ranks as THE best concert I have ever been to. The Love Jones opened for them and they got everybody fired up. The last song from their set was the theme to WKRP only they changed it to "W-H-I-G from Cincinnati". The Afghan Whigs came on and they played for about an hour and a half and they were joined onstage by Martha Reeves for a couple of songs. Again, THE best concert ever!

The Afghan Whigs played City Gardens in Trenton, NJ on April 8, 1994. It was the day that Kurt Cobain's body was found. Greg began the show with a simple statement, "A friend of ours died today..." and then the boys proceeded to rock the house! They played a sexy cover of Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin Bout Love." It was my first time seeing the Whigs live, and as they were amazing, definitely not my last time seeing Greg and Company.
