“Too Tough To Die” Import
The UK single for “Too Tough to Die” is now available as an import from Amazon.com. Geared to the completists in the house, the two track disc features the album versions of “Too Tough to Die” and “Hard Time Killing Floor.”
Dulli Prefers NYC and NOLA
The Indianapolis Star has an article up titled “Music Cities, USA” in which artists praise their favorite places to play. Greg Dulli was one of those quoted.
Greg Dulli, onetime member of the Afghan Whigs and current leader of the Twilight Singers, agrees with [Josh] Groban’s praise of New Orleans while differing from Jones on the influence of New York City.
Basically, he says, he thrives on the action.
“New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz, and there’s music going on 24/7 down there,” he says.
“New York is the capital of the world, and everybody goes there. On any given night, you can see one of the greatest acts in the world.”
Dulli, who grew up in Cincinnati and performed at Broad Ripple’s Patio nightclub in April, says he loves to visit the Big Easy and the Big Apple.
“The oven’s a little hotter in both of those cities,” he says. “That’s not to say I don’t come out shooting to kill in Indy. But the glare is a little brighter in New Orleans and New York.”
The OTHER Twilight Singers
STLToday.com has written a story on the flu vaccine shortage. Normally not big news, until you get toward the end of the article and find this gem:
Barbara Smith, 71, said she is concerned about catching influenza at one of the many nursing homes and retirement villages where she and her singing group, the Twilight Singers, entertain.
Somehow, I doubt they throw in a little Outkast or Judas Priest between songs.
