Whigs on iTunes Store

The Afghan Whigs were a part of the initial offering of selections on Apple’s iTunes music store. The store is currently available to Mac users; but Apple will launch a PC client later this year. 1965 is listed in the Staff Picks section. Also available are What Jail is Like and Black Love.

On the Whigs’ home page in the iTunes store (see screenshot), there is some interesting information. 66 is the most downloaded Whigs track, with none of the songs from Black Love making the list. In the “Listeners Also Bought” column, Greg Dulli and Rick McCollum are listed. No solo tracks from Greg or Rick are available in the store, however.

Blackberry Belle - Record Collector

Reviewer: PH

The Twilight Singers are from the USA and they will be touring the UK from January 2004. And I for one, would like to be there if this new album is anything to go by. The musical ideas and production values have been garnered from impeccable sources… there’s everything in here from the Beatles/Floyd through to the Cure and The Smiths tinged with bluegrass and metal guitar… and all fronted by Greg Dulli’s great vocals. Finding inspiration from the past is one thing, pulling it all together is quite another. These guys have truly succeeded as this album pleases right to the very end.
