Uptown Lights

Like an adrenaline shot of rock n’ soul straight to the heart of the LA music scene, Uptown Lights shoots up the art of the live musical performance.

Comprised of past and present members of The Twilight Singers, these five gentlemen have created a celebration based on their collective love of deep soul and rhythm and blues.

Formed primarily to throw house parties in their hometown while they work on their respective individual projects, Uptown Lights revisits the days of dressing uptown and throwing downtown. Armed with a setlist featuring the songs of their heroes, like O.V. Wright, Joe Tex, the Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding and many, many more, this show is not to be missed…

Uptown Lights are:

Greg Dulli/Vocals
Scott Ford/Bass
Mathias Schneeberger/Keys
Jon Skibic/Guitar
Bobby MacIntyre/Drums

The first show is scheduled for February 19th at Spaceland in Silverlake, CA. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 the night of the show.

The band has a myspace page located at: http://www.myspace.com/uptownlights

hey, what’s with the mutiny? his passion is endless and he wants to share… just think of all the people who live without dulli. the man has a message to spread and soul to give. what say you to block? besides it might mean more tours and to that I say — play on play’r.

Man, talk about poppin’ the new year into gear. The Section and Uptown Lights and TS in whatever incarnation is always a good thing…so the section does Zepplin, hmm. It could happen. Here’s to a great week!

I don’t know who this Brian Young is on the drums, but I can promise you he’s no Bobby MacIntyre. But, still wish I could see it regardless.

Yeah, but it’s no regular cover band dude. Greg Dulli headlining? That’s no normal cover band. Just go see it.

Ok, perhaps I’m getting terribly impatient and uppity as I age, but…please. Where in Goodness’ name are the Gutter Twins?…Together, I mean. We know where one of them is going to be in February, in Silverlake (and fairplay to that; who *really* wants Mr. Dulli to stop pulling down the hoodoo he do so well…)
Lucky folks who’ll be at Spaceland! Enjoy it as well for us Back East…
