Michael Horrigan’s “Soul Power”

The Detroit Free Press has an article about The Soul Power Experience Unlimited Band, a Detroit area James Brown covers act. One of the two drummers in the project is former Afghan Whig Michael Horrigan.

Horrigan joined the Afghan Whigs for the 1965 album, and played bass in the first live incarnation of the Twilight Singers. Horrigan joined the Twilight Singers on stage in Newport Kentucky at their show in 2003.

The Experience’s next gig is Saturday at Small’s, 10339 Conant, Hamtramck. 313-873-1117. Doors at 8 p.m., cover is $5. Several DJs open.
