The show rawked my ass off! 2 hours of Greg Dulli at his best. A special appearance by Rick McCollum for the encore! Whigs galore. nuff said.
UNREAL.
the encore w/ Rick was:
Uptown Again
66
Crazy
Faded
i can die a happy man now…
the rest of the main set was from what i can recall pretty much the same as the Denver show, as they did the Love Supreme/Please Stay thing, as well as Black->Time of the Season, and while i don’t recall hearing Rhiannon, they definitely played the Layla outro after The Killer as well.
greg sang a bit of Purple Rain during the (long) intro to Faded
there were some pretty funny comments from Greg during the show, i’ll post more about em tomorrow, i’m leaving in a bit.
Incredible show! Yeah, they did the Fleetwood Mac bit when Greg was playing the keyboard. Also plenty of other snippets – Prince, etc.
The all Whigs encore was great and pretty much blew away the crowd.
I figured the lady who Greg kissed would get to go back stage, but she left right away after the show without even trying.
Amazing show…good crowd, small setting, ah , wish i could do it again! Dark, sweaty, smoky rock n’ roll. I honestly wasn’t aware that anyone else liked the Twilight Singers besides m’self. Greg Dulli, what a man. My friend had to drag me away, had to surrender my fantasies for a while…I am eager to dig more into the back catalog of the Whigs, as I have only Black Love and 1965. I’m glad I had a chance to see the show!
