That was a really tight performance. They nailed that song!

Did anyone notice when the show was over and they were about to roll the credits a picture of Powder Burns is put up with Kimmels web address and the announcer says “If you would like to purchase My Chemical Romances The Black Parade go to Jimmy’s website and click the picture.”? I was like WHAT?!?!?!?!?!! Idiot producer!!

Actually, the way we saw it in Chicago was : If you would like to purchase the CD, go to the website and click on the CD cover… No mention of the title of the band, or cd.. It was like a generic recording of the announcer. However, the CD displayed on the screen was in fact powder burns. BTW, we here in Chicago have to wait until after 12midnight (CST) for Jimmy after our local ABC rerun of the morning’s Oprah show.. She is a deity here you know…

BTW – I thought that the performace was cool, but a little short on the vocal delivery.. But that’s typical of Dulli live. definately powerful. I would have prefered the slow steady build up of “Powder Burns” for live TV.

Yep – East Coast got the MCR voice-over.

Did anyone stay until after Forty Dollars when the show ended with them doing Sublime? It got cut off but he said go to the website to see the rest of the song. Its no where to be found.

  5. Lee says:

    should be up later today

  6. Don says:

For what it’s worth, the west coast received a feed with the correct (and album specific) voiceover information. Fantastic performance. Liked it lots.

  7. Don says:

Does anybody know if additional songs were played (besides “forty dollars” and “sublime”)?

  8. mhuntsman says:

I was able to make it to the taping last night and in addition to “40 Dollars” and “Sublime” they also played “I’m Ready.”

  9. scarredgod says:

jimmy kimmel called them “the twilight sisters” earlier in the show right before the commercial.

  10. Don says:

    Thanks, mh …

  11. rockchick says:

what is it with people calling them the Twiliight Sisters? The Rescue Me webpage listed them on the music page the same way!

Damn, I missed the actual broadcast. Thank goodness for Youtube. The band looks and sounds freaking great. Anyway, a friend that watched the performance as it was broadcast mentioned that Greg turned his guitar over at the end of the performance to reveal the word Viola. Can anyone confirm this and what it’s significance may be? The youtube clip’s just too dark to see.

  13. Lee says:

Dave’s guitar said “Viva” and Greg’s said “NOLA” – if I remember correctly.

  14. llewis93 says:

Long live New Orleans is what they meant…

  15. ludlow555 says:

I was at the taping too. I bet they would have played a lot more had they used the outdoor stage.

  16. scarredgod says:

sublime and 40 dollars is up on the kimmel website… http://abc.go.com/latenight/jimmykimmel/index?pn=garage

  17. petitlapin66 says:

Actually, I might be wrong, but I think it was vivE NOLA, which is French. But I’m just being picky here…
