Whigs in Encyclopedia of Popular Music
Cincinnati locals on best, worst albums
The Afghan Whigs’ 1998 album “1965” and Funkadelic’s 1978 album “One Nation Under A Groove” both appear on an unranked list of the all-time best albums that was compiled by Colin Larkin, editor of the “Encyclopedia of Popular Music.”
The fourth edition of the 10-volume, 10,000-page “Encyclopedia of Popular Music” was published by Oxford University Press this month. It costs $995 through the end of the year and $1,295 thereafter.
