Twilight Singers Schedule Second US Run
Twilight Singers Schedule Second US Run After a blisteringly successful overseas tour where they performed to their own sold out crowds and key slots at several of the major festivals including Reading, The Twilight Singers featuring Greg Dulli and now Mark Lanegan will undertake their second U.S. run in support of the critically acclaimed current album Powder Burns.
The group recently concluded their European tour with the band’s first ever visit to Israel where they sold out a two night stand in Tel Aviv. As usual The Twilight Singers will refresh their set-list since this past summer’s tour and this time around the repertoire will include many new tracks featuring both Dulli and Lanegan on vocals together.
Powder Burns is the first collection of new Twilight Singers’ originals since 2003’s critically acclaimed Blackberry Belle. Songs like “There’s Been An Accident,” “Bonnie Brae” and “Forty Dollars” are simultaneously grave and exultant, intoxicated with the raw experience of being alive while confronting the profound sadness that inevitably accompanies it.
The 19 date tour will launch in San Francisco at the Great American Music Hall on October 24 th with Stars Of Track & Field and Jeff Klein as support and will end in Brooklyn on November 16 th at Warsaw. Mighty Fine, featuring long time guest Twilight Singers vocalist Steve Myers – will perform in place of Klein as a special guest for the Brooklyn show.
Greg Dulli recently announced plans on his website for the legendary Afghan Whigs to reunite this month in Memphis, TN to record two new tracks for an upcoming Rhino Records compilation titled Unbreakable.
