Little Girl Blue (Rodgers/Hart) from the musical Jumbo (1935; movie version 1962), originally sung by Gloria Grafton (movie version sung by Doris Day). The song was covered by countless other artists, and the Whigs might have used Diana Ross’ version as a template for theirs. Mr. Superlove is a cover of the Ass Ponys song. Ready covers the Scrawl song. The Dark End Of The Street covers Percy Sledge. Program Two is “The Conversation”, a two-part interview with Greg Dulli by Seattle DJ Mike Casey. Recorded for KNDD Radio, Seattle, WA. Produced by Mike Casey. Engineered by Greg MacArthur.

  1. Rocko1978 says:

Although the Whigs version might owe more to Percy Sledge, “Dark End of the Street” was James Carr first.
