    anyone else relish the possibility of an ensuing reunion/farewell tour with the impending release of The Unbreakable Afghan Whigs on September 19th?

    chances are slim but it seemed the band went out with a dull thud by releasing the hard-boiled statement regarding their break-up back in early 2001. notwithstanding the reasons stated in the missive, it was a wistful (and ironical) way to bow out for a band that played their music with such ardor.

    wouldn’t it be great to be able to catch em live and say goodbye while they record the shows for a live cd/dvd boxset pressed just in time for festivus 2007? huh?

    i doubt it would happen, but if it did, i would attend every show on the tour. it would be nice to get a compilation DVD of their vids though.

    I think is is possible to see at least one more of the ex-Whigs join up for several shows in the fall. Just my impression from talking to the guys after one of the shows last week. I could be wrong so don’t quote me, but that would be great to see!
    Can’t belive I made it to six shows this tour!
    By portland and seattle they were really sounding great!

    In all the concerts Ive seen in my fifty years the Whigs were the best. If ever a band needs to reunite its this one.To the people who were lucky enough to be there when this band was on you know what I mean. Do this Greg for all the people who were lucky enough to be there the first time and all the people who never had the chance.

    It would be great if this compliation included unreleased material, and a DVD with all the whigs’ videos and some live material.
