New Album: In Spades

Twilight 06 Tour Press Release

Thanks to Mike for sending this along.

Legendary performer, Greg Dulli (former front man of the Afghan Whigs) and his band The Twilight Singers are embarking on a U.S. tour in support of their latest album, Powder Burns, to be released by One Little Indian Records on May 16.

Powder Burns is the 11th full-length recording in Dulli’s long career. Produced by Dulli and Mike Napolitano (Joseph Arthur/Neville Brothers) and recorded in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Milan (Italy) and Catania (Sicily) Powder Burns is a searing and moving work by an artist at the top of his game. Dulli has long been appreciated as a unique voice. His lyrics are well-crafted personal yarns delivered with brutal intensity. As the New York Times was spurred to comment “Mr. Dulli is finally a guy who simply knows how to make music that feels good in the ear”.

In addition to Powder Burns, fans can look forward to a number of side projects from Dulli in the coming months. Primary support for the Twilight Singers on the U.S. tour will be Milan, Italy’s Afterhours. Dulli produced and co-wrote several songs on their recent album Ballads for Little Hyenas. Opening the shows will be labelmate Jeff Klein. Dulli produced Klein’s 2005 album The Hustler. If that’s not enough for you, Dulli also contributed vocals to Intramural, the brainchild of Denver Dalley (Desaparecidos/Bright Eyes/Statistics), and to the debut album of NearLY from former Nine Inch Nails member Jerome Dillon. Finally, 2007 and will see the release of the debut offering from The Gutter Twins, Dulli’s collaboration with erstwhile Screaming Trees leader, current Queens of the Stoneage member and Isobel Campbell collaborator Mark Lanegan.

So welcome back, friends, to Dulli’s show that never ends—to Powder Burns by The Twilight Singers (May 16, One Little Indian).
